4. Sharing
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (for example, our form-submission processor and hosting provider), with your consent, or where required by law.
5. International transfers
Our platform operates between Australia and Singapore. Where we transfer your data internationally we take steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard equivalent to the Australian Privacy Principles.

Security commitments
How we protect customer data and operate the platform.
Encryption
All web traffic to portcall.ai and nāvika.com is served over TLS. Customer data at rest is encrypted by our cloud hosting provider.
Access control
Access to production systems is restricted to a small number of authorised engineers, gated by single sign-on with multi-factor authentication. Access is reviewed regularly and logged.
Data residency
Customer data is hosted in Australian or Singapore data centres, selected per customer agreement.
Backups
Customer data is backed up daily. Backups are encrypted and retained per our customer agreements.
Incident response
We maintain a documented incident-response process. In the event of a security incident affecting customer data, we will notify affected customers without undue delay and in line with our legal obligations.
Reporting a vulnerability
If you've identified a potential security issue, please email info@portcall.ai with "Security disclosure" in the subject line. We acknowledge reports within two business days.
Responsible AI principles
We build AI for safety-critical maritime operations. These are the principles we hold ourselves to.
Human in command
Our products augment maritime professionals — pilots, harbourmasters, agents — they don't replace them. Every consequential decision is reviewed and authorised by a qualified human.
Transparent reasoning
Where the platform makes a prediction or recommendation, we surface the inputs, the confidence, and the limits of the model. Black-box recommendations have no place on a bridge.
Trained on consented data
We train on data we have a clear right to use, either via customer agreement, public-domain sources, or licensed industry datasets such as Singapore's OCEANS-X.
Privacy by design
Personal data is minimised, segregated, and never used to train models that benefit unrelated customers without explicit permission.
Tested for safety
Before any feature reaches a production bridge, we evaluate it against historical voyages, edge cases, and pilot feedback. Features that affect under-keel clearance, manoeuvring, or any other safety-critical calculation are subject to additional review.
Continuous oversight
We log model behaviour in production and review aggregate performance regularly. We will retract or correct a model that drifts beyond agreed tolerances.
Aligned to public standards
We align our practice with the Australian Government's AI Ethics Principles and Singapore's Model AI Governance Framework, and we participate in the MPA–SSA AI Adoption MOU.
Email info@portcall.ai with "AI concern" in the subject line. We treat these reports seriously.
